Healthy Relationships

I am so thankful I have the opportunity to serve you and this community! During the holidays I am always reminded of the love and friendship in my life that I so often take for granted. It is these rock solid friends and family that I am blessed to celebrate with when times are good and they are there to lift me up when times are tough. I might be jumping the gun a bit here, but I want to declare that my resolution for the new year is showing my gratitude and sharing my love with them on a more regular basis!

One aspect of health that so many folks miss is this realm of healthy relationships. With the holidays coming and potentially more family time ahead of us, these next few weeks can be a burden and stress rather than a blessing if these relationships aren’t properly nurtured. Do you have an uncle you dread seeing? A sibling that always gets on your nerves? A parent who constantly nags? All of these, when we do not handle them appropriately, can cause stress and lead to poor health over time. Take a moment this season to realize how grateful you are for these people in your life, even when they get on your nerves. Be sure to share your love for them even if it will be the first time in years; the results may surprise you! Walk into the new year refreshed and ready to make it the best year yet, surrounded by the best family and friends yet!

I wish you the happiest of holidays and a very Merry Christmas!
